JOB OPENING -- Water Operator
ANTELOPE VALLEY IMPROVEMENT AND SERVICE DISTRICT
Full-Time Position $2,500.00 to $3,900.00 per Month (DOE) plus Benefits
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be able to Pass a Background Check * GED or High School Diploma * Experience in Water System Operation preferred, but not mandatory * Clean Driving Record * Wyoming Level I Water Operators License (or ability to obtain within 1 year) * Must be Safety Focused * Must Have Critical Thinking Skills * Motivated Self Starter * Ability to Pass Pre-Employment, Random Draw, Reasonable Suspicion, and Post Incident Drug Testing * Must be Able to Pass SCBA Fit Test and be Able to work while Wearing SCBA (will necessitate a clean shaven face) * Ability to Lift and Move Heavy Objects, Climb Ladders and Work at Heights * Mechanical Abilities * Must be Available for Emergency Call Out * Ability to Work in Confined Spaces. * Ability to Operate Light Equipment * this is a Physical Job * References will be Checked.
OPERATOR’S DUTIES ARE TO INCLUDE:
* Daily check of water level, chemical balance, equipment, tanks, wells, pumps, and general maintenance of above, to insure quality of water provided to Antelope Valley residents. * Timely sampling and reporting to regulatory agencies. * Maintain accurate records, recording and filing of those records for review and record keeping. * Serving notices of pending water shut-off to delinquent customers, necessary follow-up and subsequent shut-off when compliance is not met within 15 days. * Surveillance of streets to assess street damages and need for repair. Advising the Board of the areas in need of repair and overseeing the completion of those repairs when authorized. * Maintenance of present and future lawn, street and water equipment and prompt reporting of any damage to equipment. Repairs are to be made in a timely manner to ensure the continuing care of subdivision grounds.* Reporting of any and all damages to water wells, tanks, record keeping equipment, etc. to Board members and, upon direction, report said damage to proper insurance representatives; and, subsequent follow-up to ensure that all claims are being properly reviewed and compensated to Antelope Valley. * Maintenance of designated Antelope Valley properties. This is to include mowing, trimming of weeds where necessary, and general building maintenance. * Repair or replace street signs as needed. * Sweep streets, plow easements to water wells. * Assist the Antelope Valley Homeowners Board as necessary * other duties as required or assigned.
